Clinical Dietitian Job Description

**Overview**

The Woodlands Hospital is a primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Our clinical services include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women's services, neurosciences, pediatric care, and surgery pathology and pulmonary services, as well as sleep disorders. We have clinical affiliations with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center's Radiation Treatment Center and Texas Children's Hospital.

As a Clinical Dietitian at The Woodlands Hospital, you will assess the nutritional status of our patients using recognized assessment tools. You will take great pride in recommending and counseling patients, family, and caregivers on the appropriate nutrition plan to improve the patient's health and well-being.

**Responsibilities**

* Develops an intervention plan which includes appropriate feeding route, mode, and nutrition prescription unique to patient's specific needs, in accordance with physicians' orders.
* Monitors and evaluates patient response to interventions by meeting specific measurable goals documented in the nutrition care plan in a timely and thorough manner in the medical record.
* Updates plan of care as necessary and follows up with the patient as needed.
* Collaborates within an interdisciplinary environment to contribute to facilitating care and identifying patients at nutrition risk or needing higher level of care.
* Collaborates with the Food and Nutrition Services team to enhance patient experience.

**Requirements**

* Bachelor's Degree with completion of accredited dietitian program (ACEND - Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics).
* Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
* Dietitian State license in the following states: Kentucky, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Tennessee, Ohio, Kansas, Georgia, Iowa, and Utah.
