SUMMARY
Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency is seeking a dedicated Radiology Technologist or Senior Radiology Technologist for our Radiology division. This part-time role (0.9 FTE) involves working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7pm to 7:30am.

This night shift position offers a $5.00 per hour shift differential, a $100 daily shift bonus, and a $.90 per hour weekend shift differential for Saturday and Sunday shifts.


A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is available for qualified external candidates (contract/temporary workers and former employees returning within one year are not eligible).


Under the supervision of the area supervisor or lead technologist, you will conduct imaging examinations and provide patient care and technical support to ensure high-quality radiographic images.


RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct general radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations as required.
- Prepare examination rooms adequately for procedures.
- Review and confirm exam requests to ensure accuracy in patient and procedure matching.
- Interview patients and assess available clinical data to identify potential contraindications (labs, allergies, etc.).
- Ensure patients receive consistent care as provided on their unit.
- Explain examination procedures to patients and their families.
- Prepare and administer oral and/or IV contrast according to departmental protocols.
- Demonstrate proper anatomical positioning and exposure factors for area-specific exams.
- Adhere to the ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principle.
- Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
- Evaluate images, distinguish between normal and abnormal anatomy, and notify the appropriate Radiologist as necessary; take appropriate actions to resolve image quality issues.
- Consistently perform quality examinations and ensure adherence to departmental protocols (positioning protocols, etc.).
- Utilize the image management system to acquire, format, manipulate, archive, and print images from the PACS system.
- Accurately report the total number of images taken and the reasons for any repeat radiographs.
- Assist physicians and residents as needed during radiology examinations and procedures.
- Appropriately utilize the EPIC system for orders, scheduling documentation, and billing.
- Implement manual operations during system downtimes.
- Instruct new staff and students in imaging procedures and techniques.
- Evaluate and complete competency assessments for students, providing ongoing feedback to the Student Coordinator.
- Assist in the education and training of medical staff (Radiology Residents, Fellows, etc.).
- Maintain equipment and rooms in proper working order and troubleshoot any malfunctions, reporting issues promptly.
- Respect and utilize equipment responsibly, taking ownership of incidents involving equipment.
- Perform various clerical duties and quality control procedures.
- Promote a healthy work environment and effective teamwork; suggest improvements.
- Assist in organizing workflow using available staff and rooms.
- Participate in departmental continuing education in-services.
- Provide peer feedback for staff performance evaluations.
- Complete additional duties/projects as assigned.
- Follow hospital policies regarding medication handling and security.

QUALIFICATIONS - Radiology Technologist
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Maintain minimum CEU credits as required by the ARRT.
- Possess current CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of employment.

- Confident demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

QUALIFICATIONS - Radiology Technologist, Senior
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Maintain minimum CEU credits as required by the ARRT.
- Possess current CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of employment.
- Two years of experience in Radiology as a Radiology Technologist.
