Position Overview:

Eaton's Aerospace Interconnect division is seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist in Manufacturing. This role is pivotal in supporting both new and existing product development initiatives while collaborating with customers, suppliers, and internal manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety and Environmental Stewardship:
    Enhance and sustain safe and environmentally responsible manufacturing practices, utilizing Eaton's MESH (Environmental, Safety, and Health) process alongside industry standards.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Design processes to ensure that all components and assemblies adhere to both internal and external quality standards, including the Eaton Quality System and AS9100.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with plant operations and product engineering to define product and process flows through MRP (Materials Requirement Planning), facilitating seamless new product integration into manufacturing.
  • Process Excellence:
    Engage actively with facility teams to ensure timely completion of program deliverables, focusing on manufacturing process optimization.
  • Material Disposition:
    Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to address and resolve discrepancies in materials.
  • Documentation Management:
    Create and maintain PFMEAs, routers, and process documentation (work instructions) to meet safety, quality, efficiency, and cost objectives.
  • Change Management:
    Oversee and process manufacturing change orders to ensure the effective implementation of engineering updates.
  • Product Flow Improvement:
    Enhance product flow within the plant by minimizing inputs into the Material Review Board (MRB) process and swiftly resolving production stoppages.
  • Technical Support:
    Provide functional and technical assistance within the designated area and across the organization as necessary to meet operational goals.
  • Tooling Participation:
    Actively engage in the design, definition, and manufacturing of production tooling.

Work Environment:
This position requires on-site work at our facility. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing engineering within an assembly environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling and drafting.
  • Compliance with ITAR regulations, requiring U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or aerospace engineering.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certifications with proven results.
  • Experience in high mix/low volume manufacturing settings.
  • Familiarity with AS9100D manufacturing standards.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to connectors and cable assembly, as well as fixture and tooling design.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, SolidWorks, and CAD modeling for MRP applications.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management tools such as Enovia.
