About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technician to join our team at Platinum Center. As a key member of our Operating Room team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist Surgeons and Anesthesiologists: Provide surgeons and anesthesiologists with the necessary surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient surgical experience.
  • Prepare Operating Room: Prepare the operating room for surgery by checking the case cart and preference sheet, and aseptically opening instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain Sterile Field: Set up and maintain a sterile field, and assist during the case by providing the surgical team with the necessary surgical instruments, sponges, sutures, and medications.
  • Participate in Surgical Procedures: Participate in surgical procedures by assisting with sponge, needle, and instrument counts, and communicating with the circulating nurse to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Assist with Room Clean-up: Assist in room clean-up and the removal of soiled case carts, supplies, and trash from the OR room.
  • Transport Laboratory and Surgical Instruments: Transport laboratory, surgical instruments, and supplies as needed/requested.
  • Help with Supplies and Inventory: Help with supplies and maintaining inventory, and pulling cases for next day surgeries.
Qualifications/Position Requirements:
  • Education/Experience: Associate degree in Surgical Technology or specialized training in the Armed Forces, or a minimum of 2 years experience as a Surgical Technician.
  • License/Certification: Surgical Technician Certification Preferred, and BLS Certification Preferred.
