We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at ECHN. As a critical care nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patients' medical and surgical conditions, including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
- Develop and revise individualized plans of care, evaluating overall plans daily for effectiveness and involving patients and families in goal formulation.
- Follow medication rights and reduce the potential for medication errors, demonstrating knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on patient age and clinical condition.
- Provide accurate and pertinent reports of patients' conditions for safe transfer of care, documenting the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner.
- Assist physicians with treatments and special procedures, maintaining aseptic technique and demonstrating knowledge of cardiac monitoring, airway management, and fluid and electrolyte management.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current licensure in the State of Connecticut.
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire or within the new employee introductory orientation period.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing using the English language, with basic computer skills.
