Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Special Care Unit team at ECHN. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient-centered care, coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, and communicate effectively with patients and families.
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patients' medical and surgical conditions, including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
- Develop and revise individualized plans of care based on assessment and patient response to treatment, involving patients and families in goal formulation.
- Follow medication rights and reduce the potential for medication errors, demonstrating knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on patient age and clinical condition.
- Document the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner, utilizing critical thinking skills and sound judgment in priority setting and delegation.
- Formulate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs, evaluating effectiveness of learning and involving family as appropriate.
- Provide accurate and pertinent reports of patients' conditions for safe transfer of care, demonstrating knowledge of cardiac monitoring and identifying dysrhythmias and treating appropriately based on ACLS protocols.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, with current licensure in the state of Connecticut.
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire or within the new employee introductory orientation period, and maintenance of clinical competency during employment with ECHN.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess basic computer skills.
