Special Construction Project Engineer

Location: Melbourne, FL

Description:

As a Special Construction Project Engineer at ADEX, you will be responsible for managing telecommunications special construction projects resulting from customer requests for proposals (RFPs) or telecommunication access solution orders that result in non-recurring construction scope and/or cost.

The project manager will establish and maintain relationships with carrier personnel responsible for implementing construction projects and work to coordinate and schedule events until the project is complete.

Responsibilities:

a. Manage multiple simultaneous construction projects from initiation through closure while meeting schedule deadlines.
b. Maintain all electronic data and critical project documentation and as-builts.
c. Create and provide metrics/performance data for use in program management reviews.
d. Provide daily support to implementation team and ensures vendors are communicating effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of telecommunications engineering design experience, knowledge of carrier ordering systems and processes with three to five years project management and/or people management experience preferred.

a. Expert knowledge of civil telecommunications specific products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
b. Highly motivated and capable of developing and following detailed instructions and action plans.
c. Ability to work in team environment and is self-directed and self-motivated.
d. Project management skills capable of adhering to deadlines and completing tasks per project schedule.
e. Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications.
f. Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings and technical procedures.
g. Domain knowledge of the Telecommunications industry, including carrier services and provisioning terminology.
h. Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance security clearance.

Preferred Additional Qualifications:
a. Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Civil, Telecommunications Engineering Technology or Information Systems with Network Focus preferred.
