Position Overview:

The Facility Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the Philadelphia Temple Corps Community Center. This role involves managing both indoor and outdoor maintenance tasks, guaranteeing a safe and welcoming environment for all program participants and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute janitorial duties for the facility and surrounding grounds, including snow removal during winter months.
  • Maintain all cleaning equipment in optimal condition and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Coordinate with vendors for property repairs and maintenance, ensuring timely service and quality work.
  • Keep accurate records of required inspections and ensure they are completed as scheduled.
  • Supervise community service volunteers, tracking their hours and contributions.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisors when restocking is necessary.
  • Assist with the distribution of donated items and maintain organization within the facility.
  • Perform various cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and maintaining restrooms.
  • Respond to on-call maintenance issues as they arise, ensuring the facility remains operational and safe.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; prior experience in maintenance or janitorial services is preferred.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to pass required background checks.
  • Understanding of The Salvation Army's mission and values.
