Cardiovascular Surgery Stepdown RN

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Surgery Stepdown team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair or replacement, and minimally invasive or off-pump coronary bypass surgery.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, medication administration, and other relevant data.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account the patient's medical history, surgical procedure, and post-operative care needs.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician, and document patient responses and outcomes.
- Participate in bedside hand-off reports and thorough bedside daily rounds to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and promoting a smooth transition to home or further care.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Minimum one year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
