Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair or replacement, and minimally invasive or off-pump coronary bypass surgery.
  • Monitor and record patient conditions, communicating effectively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, administering prescribed medications and treatments as needed.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition to post-acute care.
  • Assess and educate patients and their families on post-operative care, providing guidance on wound care, medication management, and other essential topics.
Requirements:
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Minimum one year of acute care RN experience in a hospital setting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care
