**This position is an IAMAW unionized role. Selected candidates will be eligible for pension and fully covered company-sponsored benefits.**
SHIFT: Saturday and Sunday, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, plus one 8-hour shift during the week.
POSITION SUMMARY
The role involves executing specialized cleaning tasks alongside routine cleaning responsibilities in line with established protocols and contractual goals. The employee will utilize various cleaning apparatus, including automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers, and other essential tools, chemicals, and supplies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General Clean-up:
- Conduct thorough cleaning of all designated areas within the facility as instructed.
- Ensure that rooms are properly maintained and fully stocked.
- Sanitize offices, meeting spaces, restrooms, kitchenettes, and communal areas.
- Dust surfaces including furniture, walls, machinery, and equipment.
- Service, clean, and replenish restroom supplies.
- Collect and dispose of trash and recycling, which may involve transporting waste to designated disposal areas.
- Perform interior windowpane and glass surface cleaning within reach.
- Polish metal fixtures and trim.
- Execute non-routine cleaning tasks as per specific job orders, manage emergency cleaning requests, and undertake heavy cleaning assignments as needed.
- Maintain and care for all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products.
- Report any necessary repairs or replacements encountered during work.
- Properly mix and dispose of cleaning solutions.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Ensure safe and sanitary storage and handling of cleaning products.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and/or vacuum floors.
- Perform spot cleaning on carpets.
- Steam-clean or shampoo carpets as required.
- Utilize powered scrubbing and polishing machines following appropriate training.
- Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and equipment to avoid damage.
- Employ chemical agents as directed by the supervising officer after receiving proper training.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Clean toilets, urinals, sinks, showers, and drinking fountains, ensuring surfaces are wiped down.
- Restock consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Empty trash and sanitary bins.
- Dust ventilation fans.
- Clean plumbing fixtures.
- Mop and scrub floors.
- Clean grout as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.

Strong attention to detail is essential.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Capacity to follow directions accurately.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate as part of a team.
Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, reach, stretch, push, pull, and lift repetitively throughout the workday.
Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
ABILITIES/KEY COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a cleaning role.
Ability to operate heavy janitorial equipment and tools.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, disposal methods, and cleaning techniques.
Able to follow verbal instructions and schedules.
Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to professionalism.
Able to adapt to changing schedules or routines.
Excellent time management skills.
Detail-oriented in cleaning tasks.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent.
LANGUAGE
English preferred and/or Spanish.
