Job Responsibilities

As a sanitation specialist, you will be responsible for performing both routine and specialized cleaning tasks to meet established standards and contractual obligations. You will utilize various cleaning equipment and supplies to ensure a clean and safe environment.

  • General Cleaning Duties:
    Maintain cleanliness throughout the facility by:
    • Conducting thorough clean-up of designated areas.
    • Ensuring that all rooms are well-maintained and stocked.
    • Sanitizing offices, meeting spaces, restrooms, kitchenettes, and communal areas.
    • Dusting furniture, walls, and equipment.
    • Cleaning and restocking restroom facilities.
    • Collecting and disposing of trash and recyclables.
    • Cleaning interior windows and glass surfaces as needed.
    • Polishing metal fixtures.
    • Addressing emergency cleaning requests and completing heavy-duty cleaning tasks as required.
    • Maintaining cleaning equipment and reporting any necessary repairs.
    • Properly mixing and disposing of cleaning solutions.
    • Adhering to health and safety regulations.
    • Performing additional tasks as assigned.
  • Floor Care:
    Ensure floors are clean and presentable by:
    • Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
    • Spot cleaning carpets and performing steam cleaning when necessary.
    • Using powered equipment for floor maintenance after receiving proper training.
    • Following guidelines for chemical use to protect flooring.
    • Completing other related tasks as assigned.
  • Restroom Maintenance:
    Keep restrooms clean and sanitary by:
    • Cleaning toilets, sinks, and other fixtures.
    • Restocking consumables like soap and paper products.
    • Emptying trash and sanitary bins.
    • Dusting vents and cleaning plumbing fixtures.
    • Mopping and scrubbing restroom floors.
    • Performing grout cleaning as needed.
    • Completing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical capability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a cleaning role.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices.
  • Reliability and punctuality in fulfilling job responsibilities.
  • Adaptability to changing work schedules.
  • Effective time management skills.

Education Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Language Proficiency

English is preferred; Spanish is a plus.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position is $23.92.
