Job Summary

  • Coverage includes University Hospitals in the Southwestern Medical District, with over 800 beds and 70 anesthetizing locations, representing all major specialties of care.
  • A rotating schedule provides predictability and ample opportunities for extra-income.
  • Weekday calls are assigned quarterly, averaging one call shift per month.
  • Weekend calls are offered as extra-income opportunities.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse, and graduate of a school of nurse anesthesia accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas and passing the qualifying examination administered by the AANA for certification as a nurse anesthetist.
  • Registration by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas as a Nurse Anesthetist.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through a course accredited by the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross.
  • No experience required.
