Responsibilities:

  • Assist dentists, hygienists, and other dental staff in providing patient care and treatment.
  • Teach patients and community groups about basic oral health education and promote healthy habits.
  • Act as a chair-side assistant to dentists, utilizing accepted four-handed dental techniques.
  • Take and develop diagnostic radiographs using accepted dental radiographic techniques.
  • Perform basic dental laboratory procedures and assist with dental sterilization techniques.
  • Support receptionists with administrative tasks and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining dental records and supporting new employee onboarding.
  • Participate in oral health education activities at community agencies and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience as a dental assistant required.
  • Dental Assistant Certification preferred.
  • Basic CPR (BCLS) Certificate required (the Health Center will provide if needed).
  • Medical or Dental Assistant training preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Chinese or English/Spanish preferred.
