Job Summary

The Medical Support Specialist is a vital member of our healthcare team at ExpressCare Urgent Care. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining effective patient throughput and assisting our providers in delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document patient information into our electronic medical record system
  • Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse
  • Conduct rapid lab tests and accurately record results in the EMR
  • Administer injections and perform EKGs as needed
  • Apply orthopedic splints and assist with simple medical procedures
  • Perform phlebotomy and prepare specimens for lab testing
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures, including infection control and HIPAA guidelines
  • Attend staff meetings and complete checklists and tasks assigned within the shift
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and externship required
  • Certified or Registered (CMA or RMA) preferred
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience in a physician's office or hospital preferred
  • CPR Certification required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work 12 plus hour shifts
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for longer periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, as needed
  • Ability to travel to different locations and have reliable transportation
Work Schedule

Full-time position with 3 shifts per week, including rotating weekends. All centers are open 7 days a week, including holidays.
