Job Overview

Harrison Western is seeking experienced shaft miners to join our team at the WIPP project in New Mexico. As a shaft miner, you will work under the direction of other mine personnel, performing physical activities in support of completing mine development, construction, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and handling explosives
  • Mucking with Clam operators
  • Drilling rounds with the shaft Jumbo
  • Constructing and moving shaft forms, aligning and pouring concrete
  • Drilling and installing shaft support
  • Applying shotcrete
Requirements
  • Ability to take direction from supervision
  • Recognizing hazards and safety risks
  • Familiarity with equipment and tools required for the position
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Working in various physical positions
  • Must be able to obtain ATF Clearance
  • Shaft sinking experience preferred
