RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conducts classes as assigned in designated locations and times.

2. Develops a curriculum that caters to the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of students.

3. Establishes a learning environment that is supportive and appropriate for students' maturity levels and interests.

4. Directs the educational process towards achieving established curriculum objectives, clearly communicating goals for all lessons, units, and projects.

5. Prepares for assigned classes and provides written evidence of preparation upon request from the supervisor as stipulated in the teacher's contract.

6. Utilizes a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials, taking into account the physical constraints of the location and the needs of the students.

7. Actively works to implement the district's educational philosophy, instructional goals, and performance standards through teaching practices.

8. Regularly evaluates student progress; provides necessary reports and communicates with parents as needed.

9. Maintains accurate and complete records as mandated by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.

10. Identifies students' learning challenges regularly, seeking assistance from district specialists when necessary.

11. Ensures the safety of students, equipment, materials, and facilities through reasonable precautions.

12. Adheres to the district's code of conduct in the classroom, developing fair and just rules of behavior.

13. Plans and oversees the work of paraprofessionals, providing written evaluations as required.

14. Engages in ongoing professional development that meets district requirements and personal professional goals.

15. Participates actively in the teacher evaluation process, contributing to a collaborative agreement on evaluation outcomes.

16. Attends meetings at the building and district levels to foster communication and collaborative decision-making among staff.

17. Participates in school-sponsored events as agreed upon with administration, in accordance with the teacher's contract.

18. Contributes to district and building decisions regarding budget, facilities, curriculum, and staff welfare.

19. Strives to enhance and maintain professional expertise.

As the Lead Technology Coordinator:

1. Oversees the management of the school's student laptop inventory and coordinates necessary re-imaging.

2. Manages the distribution of laptops to students.

3. Coordinates with the IT Department to ensure timely repair and replacement of broken devices.

4. Participates in professional development with the IT Department regarding laptop support and management.

5. Engages in professional development with both IT and Academic departments on the use of adopted technology tools for teaching and learning.

6. Provides professional development to fellow educators on the use of adopted technology tools for effective teaching and learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be highly qualified with necessary competencies in the subject area.

2. Requires appropriate educator license in Digital Literacy and Computer Science, Instructional Technology, or Technology Education, along with grade-level licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

3. A Bachelor's Degree with the relevant license is required; a Master's Degree with the appropriate content area license is preferred and/or expected within five years.

4. Experience or familiarity with assisting students or educators in utilizing computers and other technological resources is essential.
