About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Assistant II to join our team at Bassett Healthcare Network. As a key member of our nursing care team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our patients, nursing, and medical care teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care, including essential daily care, safety and preventative care, patient safety, environmental safety, patient mobility, nutrition, and patient data collection.
  • Perform patient care interventions as delegated and within scope of practice, including phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, blood glucose measurement, and telemetry.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing and healthcare teams, including reporting out-of-range patient data values, recognizing and reporting patient changes, and performing shift reports.
  • Provide customer service by relating and respecting each patient individually, meeting their needs, and ensuring excellent patient care is delivered.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Minimum one year direct patient care experience at an acute care hospital, long-term care facility, rehabilitation facility, or licensed home care facility/agency.
  • BLS Certification within 6 months from date of hire, required.
  • Accountability, clinical skills, interacting with people, multi-tasking, and reliability.
Working Conditions

This role requires occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, typing, kneeling, repetitive motion, frequent grasping, hearing, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, talking, walking, visual acuity, and seeing/monitor/computer use. Constant fit testing is also required.
