Physician Referral Specialist

HSS is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Referral Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our HSSConnect contact center, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to patients seeking medical care with an HSS physician for orthopedic and rheumatologic conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Triage and Referral: Utilize an automated referral system to triage, counsel, schedule, and/or refer patients to HSS physicians.
- Knowledge Management: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all HSS physicians in each service line and offsite location.
- Patient Connection: Connect patients to the appropriate MD office based on their condition, insurance, location, availability, and patient preferences.
- Email Management: Manage email queue volume received via the HSS referral website for physician referral requests.
- Case Documentation: Document and close all cases via Salesforce.
- Insurance and Revenue Cycle: Maintain knowledge of insurances and revenue cycle.
- Communication and Customer Service: Exhibit strong communication and customer service skills.
- Software Proficiency: Ability to work with a variety of software programs specific to healthcare.
- Professional Demeanor: Maintain a professional demeanor and business attire.
- Practice Scheduling: Maintain knowledge of practice scheduling parameters.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills required.
- Research and Marketing: Willingness to stay abreast of HSS research and marketing programs.
- Medical Terminology: Competency to learn medical terminology.
- Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of inbound and outbound calls.
- Customer Service Experience: Customer service experience a plus.
- Positive Attitude: Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
