Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist professional nurses in patient care tasks, ensuring a safe and compassionate environment.
- Provide support to the unit in maintaining supplies, equipment, and a clean environment.
- Run errands to other departments, including specimen delivery and equipment transport.
- Assist patients with daily activities, such as bathing and dressing.
- Respond to patient call lights and requests for assistance.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Participate in data collection and activities as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Patient Care Technician Certification through NHA required upon hire or transfer.
- BLS certification (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA) OR Heartsaver CPR/AED certification (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA) is required upon entry to the position.
- Competencies: Working knowledge of English is evident in verbal, reading and writing abilities; other language an asset; demonstrates ability in computer skills; proficiency in venipuncture and phlebotomy required.
