Job Summary:

As a Vascular Sonographer at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide high-quality ultrasound imaging services to patients in accordance with physician orders. Your expertise will be essential in preparing ultrasound rooms and diagnostic equipment, performing high-quality testing, and developing films. You will exercise professional judgment and uphold medical ethics in the performance of diagnostic services, applying knowledge of growth and development to identify requirements relative to age-specific patients. Additionally, you will maintain strict patient and staff confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnostic Testing: Perform quality images through clinical protocols, position patients to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest, and respect patients' comfort and ability.
  • Computer System: Ensure patient information is accurately inputted into the departmental computer system, check-in patients for the appropriate radiological procedure, and complete patient procedures as directed.
  • Customer Service: Provide timely, responsive, expert services to customers in a positive and friendly manner, including patients, physicians, and fellow employees.
  • Employee Safety: Adhere to written procedures in the Policy and Procedure Manual on radiation safety rules, perform necessary equipment checks prior to use, and protect patient and staff safety.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum one year of ultrasound experience.
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED.
  • License, Certification, Registration: 2 from the following list: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Breast, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Abdomen, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn, Registered Vascular Technician Certificate.
