- Irrigation and Drainage Systems: Assist in supervising and participating in the operation and maintenance of pumps, irrigation, and drainage systems, ensuring precise control and minimizing water waste.
- Employee Supervision and Development: Provide training for employees under your supervision as it relates to company safety policies and procedures, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Daily Course Preparation: Supervise the daily preparation of the golf course, including hole location, tee markers, rakes, hazard, and O.B. markers, ensuring a world-class playing experience.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure that safety guidelines are being followed, and all equipment is properly calibrated and maintained, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Chemical Applications: Perform sprayer and fertilizer spreader calibrations, and assist in spraying pesticides, applying fertilizers on greens, tees, and fairways, maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible approach.
- Additional Duties: Perform other assigned duties as needed, exercising discretion and independent judgment when evaluating new programs, services, and ideas.
- Education and Experience: Combination of education and experience will be considered. A 2-year certificate or equivalent in Turfgrass Science is required, along with a Florida Greens Industry certification and/or Florida pesticide License.
- Knowledge and Skills: Participating knowledge of the game of golf, working knowledge of construction, establishment, and maintenance practices employed on golf course putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers, and proper use of fertilizers, pesticides, and soil conditioners.
- Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership abilities, sound judgment, superior problem-solving and decision-making skills, excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail, and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
