About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Pharmacist to join our team at Ascension Sacred Heart. As a Pediatric Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Management: Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug-related problems.
  • Formulary Alternatives: Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate to ensure the best possible care for our patients.
  • Medication Dispensing: Compound and dispense medications for accurate delivery to patients.
  • Drug Information and Education: Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients to promote safe and effective medication use.
  • Communication: Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care and ensure seamless transitions.
  • Leadership: Oversee technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies.
  • Academic Functions: Assist with academic functions such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students.
  • Coverage: May float to provide coverage of pharmacy needs as required.
  • Patient Counseling: Provide patient counseling efficiently and effectively when required.
Requirements
  • Licensure: Licensed Pharmacist credentialed from the Florida Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Education: Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
