Job Summary:

As a Produce Sales Associate at Food Lion, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards in the Produce Department. Your primary focus will be on delivering fast, friendly, and accurate customer service, while minimizing shrink through proper utilization of standard practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a positive and enthusiastic atmosphere in the Produce Department, ensuring a seamless shopping experience for customers
Collaborate with other associates to achieve sales goals and maintain a clean and organized store environment
Ensure accurate and efficient ordering, receiving, preparation, and displaying of merchandise in accordance with company policies and guidelines
Participate in unloading trucks for the Produce Department and maintain a thorough understanding of company tools and procedures
Adhere to Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures, reporting any incidents or accidents to the Manager on Duty
Maintain a neat and clean appearance, adhering to the Food Lion dress code and wearing the Food Lion uniform with apron and name badge when on duty
Successfully complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses, and perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent preferred
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills
Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
Ability to use technical information to solve problems and meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations

Physical Requirements:

Ability to use computers and other communication systems required to perform job functions
Perform repetitive hand and arm motions, bend, and lift products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. on occasion
Pull or push up to 75 lbs. on occasion, stand 100% of the time, frequently walking short distances, and be able to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning and packaging materials, fresh fruits, vegetables, house plants/flowers, and household cleaners
Meet established volume activity standards for the position and tolerate working in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time
