We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team at Rio Tinto. As a key member of our Projects and Engineering team, you will be responsible for managing the sustaining capital program of moderate to major sized studies across the Kennecott Copper value stream.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing scopes of work for engineering studies for sustaining capital studies
- Leading, planning and coordinating the study or implementation stages of projects, including the management of all functional areas
- Responsible for resourcing, contract management, progress reporting and people management for the sustaining capital studies team
- Accountable for safely and successfully delivering the project and business case by ensuring the results meet technical, quality, cost and schedule requirements as per the lifecycle stages
Requirements for this role include:
- College degree in mechanical, structural, chemical or electrical engineering, or other relevant related technical field;
- Professional engineer license in Utah preferred
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience in project management experience in heavy industry
- Experience with computer system applications, including Word, Excel, MS Project
- Strong written and verbal communication skill
