Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing routine and complex maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical systems and be able to troubleshoot and repair equipment using diagnostic equipment and tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and vehicles, including lubricating, cleaning, and servicing.
- Use diagnostic equipment and tools to troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.
- Interpret schematics and blueprints to perform inspections and diagnose equipment issues.
- Operate computers and interpret parts and service manuals to perform research and prepare records.
- Fabricate parts and perform welding and body repairs as needed.
- Respond to road service requests and assist with tow trucks and wreckers.
- Conduct road tests and operational checks to determine equipment deficiencies and perform post-maintenance tests.
- Clean and care for tools, equipment, and shop facilities.
Requirements
- Knowledge of operating diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Knowledge of diagnosing and repairing routine malfunctions on light duty vehicles.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Knowledge of math and ability to interpret schematics and blueprints.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in diagnosing and repairing routine malfunctions on light duty vehicles.
- Experience in performing routine engine tune-ups and minor body repairs.
- Knowledge of welding and electric or gas welding.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing integrated mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and related systems on vehicles and equipment.
