We are seeking skilled individuals to enhance our Maintenance department. Our focus is on ensuring that our hotel remains in excellent condition as we honor our legacy. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, a comprehensive understanding of hotel equipment and systems, routine upkeep of all public areas, meeting spaces, guest accommodations, and grounds, as well as executing necessary repairs and replacements.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Oversee the maintenance of the entire hotel facility, including the structural integrity of the building, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and associated equipment, adhering to energy conservation and preventive maintenance protocols. Ensure that guest areas are well-maintained to provide an inviting atmosphere.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Execute work orders and conduct visual inspections to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the hotel’s physical structures, mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and other related equipment.

Perform routine maintenance on public areas, meeting rooms, ballrooms, service areas, and grounds. Carry out repairs, replacements, and renovation projects in offices and employee workspaces.

Comply with all corporate purchasing policies and controls, including managing outside contractor bids, budgets, and timelines. Adhere to safety protocols established by the company and OSHA.

Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to implement effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs, and provide training for other departments on the safe and efficient use of hotel equipment and energy.

Regularly update the General Manager and department heads on the condition of the building, systems, and equipment, offering practical and cost-effective solutions for maintenance. Input data into a computer system and generate reports as necessary.

Consistent attendance is crucial for success in this role. Employees with irregular attendance may face disciplinary measures, including potential termination.

Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may need to work varied schedules to meet the hotel's operational needs. Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is mandatory.

All employees must comply with hotel policies and regulations for the safe and effective operation of hotel facilities. Violations may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

SUPPORTING FUNCTIONS

In addition to essential duties, this position may involve a combination of the following supportive functions, with the time spent on each determined by management based on hotel requirements:

Conduct necessary repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel.

Prepare technical documentation, project bids, and alterations for properties, with a fundamental understanding of building codes.

Engage in training related to fire prevention, environmental health and safety, and engineering systems.

Participate in morning inspections as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The candidate must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to demonstrate the capability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:

Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Ability to read and write to facilitate effective communication.

Most tasks are performed in a collaborative environment, with the employee often taking a leadership role. Minimal direct supervision is provided.

Familiarity with various mechanical equipment, such as chillers, boilers, water softeners, and refrigeration systems is preferred.

Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems, along with maintaining records of power, water, and fuel consumption, is preferred.
