Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Med/Surg/Tele Float Nurse at Kaiser Permanente in Irvine, California. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide professional nursing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care that reflect assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient outcomes.
  • Ensure patient safety by utilizing the five rights of medication administration, preventing falls, and preventing nosocomial infections.
  • Provide optimal pain control and patient comfort, identifying and discussing patient anxieties, fears, or concerns regarding patient condition, treatment, or discharge.
  • Document patient care accurately, legibly, dated, and timed, reflecting nursing process and interventions and evaluations taken.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement activities, including planning, measuring/monitoring, assessing, and improving.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive nursing care, including mentoring, orienting, and coaching others in unit-specific operations and patient care activities.
Requirements:
  • Minimum six (6) months of experience required in an acute or sub-acute facility within the last three (3) years.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required.
  • Basic arrhythmia required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSN preferred. PCCN or CMSRN preferred.
Work Environment:

This is a part-time (24 hour +) irregular position, requiring flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends. Will be required to float to other units as needed.
