Job Summary

">

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housing Project Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our housing projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of project management are handled efficiently and effectively, including tenant relations, maintenance, security, and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Execute all orders and resolutions of the Housing Authority related to project development, management, and operation.">
  • Review, interpret, and apply federal and state laws, rules, and regulations related to low-rent housing property management.">
  • Advises and makes recommendations to the Housing Authority on policy matters affecting the housing project and its needs.">
  • Oversee all maintenance repairs, operational activities, and security for the physical plant of the project and surrounding properties.">
  • Prepare various reports as required, including annual and special budget reports.">
  • Makes regular and special inspection tours of project units, including annual inspections.">
  • Supervise employee transfers from one apartment or property to another.">
  • Interview tenants who are delinquent in rent payments or have other serious problems.">
  • Handle complaints and requests from tenants, landlords, and staff of a serious or unusual nature, attends hearings.">
  • Supervise employees, delegate responsibility, and assure completion of assigned tasks.">
  • Interpret and carry out Housing Authority policies for tenants and interested parties; refers questions of law to Housing Authority counsel.">
  • Attend Manager's meetings and conduct project staff meetings to explore project needs and develop plans for action.">
  • Develop and recommend policy changes to the Executive Director as appropriate.">
  • Perform inventory of fixed assets.">
  • Establish and maintain good resident relations and communication.">

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a bachelor's degree and one (1) year of experience in property management or fiscal management in the public or private sector;">
  • Or graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college with an associate's degree and three (3) years of experience in property management or fiscal management;">
  • Or graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and (5) years of experience in property management or fiscal management.">

Compensation and Benefits

">

This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $68,480.13 per year. Benefits include health insurance, paid leave, and participation in the New York State and Local Retirement System.

This is a Civil Service Competitive Class position. The employee would be hired on a provisional basis and would be required to pass and be reachable for appointment on the resulting eligible list.

">

Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory. Employees in this position are subject to random drug testing throughout employment.
