Position OverviewThe Physician Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed physician, delivering high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care. Responsibilities will encompass managing patients in various settings including outpatient, inpatient, emergency department, and perioperative environments. The role may also involve assisting in surgical procedures and managing on-call duties as required.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate as part of a healthcare team under the guidance of a supervising physician.
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including thorough physical examinations and gathering medical histories.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as imaging and laboratory studies, to identify any abnormalities.
- Administer therapeutic procedures including injections, suturing, and wound care.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, ensuring continuity of care through diligent record-keeping.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, health maintenance, and other relevant health topics.
- Facilitate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges as necessary.
- Assist in surgical procedures and provide post-operative care, including entering orders and monitoring recovery.
Basic Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited physician assistant program.
- Possession of a valid Physician Assistant License in California.
- National Certification as a Physician Assistant.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- National Provider Identifier.
Additional Requirements:
- Fluoroscopy Permit may be required for specific specialties.
- Ability to work in a collaborative Labor/Management Partnership environment.
