Medical Equipment Repairer Job Description

As a Medical Equipment Repairer in the Army National Guard, you will play a vital role in ensuring that healthcare personnel have the necessary equipment to provide top-notch care to patients. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining and repairing medical equipment, which will involve working with various principles such as mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, digital, optical, and radiological.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on medical equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning or defective equipment
  • Determine power and space requirements for medical equipment installations
  • Install and prepare medical equipment for use
  • Submit reports on medical equipment maintenance and repairs
Required Skills:
  • Experience working with electronic equipment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Interest in mathematics and problem-solving
Training and Certification:

Through your training, you will develop the skills and experience to pursue a civilian career as an electronic instrument repairer. With additional study, you may be able to qualify for certification as a Certified Electronics Technician at the Associate Level or Journeyman Level-Medical.

Earn While You Learn:

In the Army National Guard, you will learn these valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. Your training will consist of 10 weeks of Basic Training and 41 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, including hands-on practice in repairing and replacing equipment parts.
