About the Role

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, and review laboratory test results. You will also be responsible for notifying donors of unsuitable test results and working under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician for operational and medical issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion
  • Manage donor adverse events, including evaluating donor reactions and following applicable SOPs for medical emergencies
  • Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results
  • Work under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician for operational and medical issues
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. You will also need to be currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned, with a valid EMT-Paramedic certification. Additionally, you will need to have current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification, fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy, and satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
