Position Summary
Eriksen Translations is seeking a project manager to enhance our expanding team. This is a fully remote position that will support our work for clients across various industries. The selected candidate will oversee the planning and execution of translation projects, managing quality, cost, and timelines to ensure client satisfaction.
To excel in this role, you must be a collaborative team member with a keen eye for detail. With a passion for language and communication, you embrace cultural and multilingual diversity in the workplace and the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and manage multiple projects from inception to delivery, ensuring optimal workflow and timely results.
- Manage projects that include not only translation but also print and multimedia components (desktop publishing, subtitling, voice-over, and e-learning modules, among others).
- Collaborate closely with account managers, participate in project kick-off meetings, and provide progress updates.
- Assemble and supervise project teams, including linguists, typesetters, technical support, and quality assurance specialists.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, managing costs and issuing purchase orders.
- Create and maintain linguistic assets: translation memories, glossaries, and style guides.
- Adhere to all established quality assurance procedures.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding production-related matters as needed.
- Oversee the client review process.
- Support sales efforts during new client acquisition and onboarding.
Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience in translation/localization project management. Experience with multimedia formats is a plus.
- College degree in translation, communication, business, technology, or a related field.
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of one or more languages, in addition to English, is preferred.
- Strong computer skills and experience with content management systems (Plunet, XTRF) and industry-standard CAT tools (memoQ, SDL Trados).
- Experience in multilingual typesetting processes.
- Flexible, goal-oriented team player who can also work independently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Customer service-oriented with the ability to proactively offer new solutions in anticipation of clients' evolving needs.
- Able to work productively from home.
