Position Summary:
The Access Control Systems Technician will be tasked with the service, upkeep, repairs, and diagnostics of security systems, particularly focusing on access control mechanisms and IP-based video surveillance solutions. This includes, but is not limited to, electrified and non-electrified locking systems, card access devices, supplementary door hardware, both IP and analog cameras, central video recording systems, as well as wired and wireless communication systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to various client locations to conduct service, repairs, and troubleshooting of security systems.
- Diagnose installation issues effectively, ensuring resolutions align with company standards and compliance with relevant building codes.
- Maintain thorough documentation for tracking service-related incidents.
- Exhibit proficiency in the safe operation of hand and power tools, as well as testing equipment for CCTV systems.
- Interpret and understand electrical schematics and CAD drawings for low voltage applications.
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships with both internal teams and external clients.
- Provide remote diagnostic support via phone and online platforms.
- Utilize a company vehicle to reach client sites for service tasks.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in access control systems, CCTV, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant field experience.
- Familiarity with software systems such as Software House, Lenel, AMAG, and others is advantageous.
- Possession of relevant state licensing or the ability to obtain it post-hire.
- Understanding of Windows operating systems and IT network structures.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Availability for scheduled on-call duties to respond to urgent service requests.
- Demonstrated mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights of up to 16 feet.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
