POSITION SUMMARY:
The role involves delivering critical medical assistance to patients experiencing emergencies, both in prehospital settings and within healthcare facilities. The technician will maintain effective communication with all relevant personnel and departments involved in emergency medical services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates emergency response vehicles. (20%)
Assesses the severity and nature of medical conditions or injuries; administers basic life support and facilitates transport for critically ill or injured individuals in emergency situations. (50%)
Completes necessary documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements. (15%)
Ensures the upkeep of medical equipment and manages inventory of supplies, including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) materials, while being accountable for medications on each emergency medical service unit as per regulatory standards. (15%)
Performs additional duties as assigned or required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum
High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
EMS Vehicle Operator certification within 30 days of employment
Valid Driver's License
CPR certification from the American Heart Association
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred
At least six months of experience in prehospital medical care.
Certifications such as ITLS/PHTLS, ABLS, ASLS
