Position: Cake Decorator

Objective:

Role Summary:

The Cake Decorator is responsible for crafting high-quality decorated baked goods in alignment with the company's product standards. This role involves decorating cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items while supporting the daily operations of the bakery department. By ensuring consistent and compliant operating conditions, the Cake Decorator enhances customer confidence and loyalty through fresh and visually appealing products, along with exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

Service (40%):

Creates a welcoming atmosphere for customers, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated. Maintains product availability and quality standards while merchandising the department effectively. Engages with customers by offering samples, answering inquiries, and assisting with product selection. Fulfills customer requests and special orders, utilizing decoration skills to ensure satisfaction with all baked goods.

Financial (40%):

Completes daily tasks such as communications and training. Processes and bakes products according to production guidelines, ensuring quality assurance. Monitors product freshness and manages inventory effectively to minimize waste and maintain cost efficiency. Adheres to food safety guidelines and documentation requirements.

Leadership (10%):

Encourages teamwork and collaboration among associates, promoting a respectful and trusting work environment. Guides the team to achieve departmental goals while adhering to all company policies and regulations.

Compliance/Safety (10%):

Ensures adherence to safety standards and proper food handling practices. Executes product recalls promptly and maintains a culture of safety within the department. Reports any safety risks or incidents to management and ensures that all associates are trained in safety protocols.

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED is required.

Experience:

0-3 years of relevant experience in a bakery or food service environment.

Skills and Abilities:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to operate bakery equipment safely.
• Proficiency in basic math and computer applications.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements. May involve lifting and carrying loads up to specified weights.

Work Environment:

Exposure to various indoor and outdoor conditions, including cold and heated environments.

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required.
