ABOUT FOOD & BEVERAGE

The Food & Beverage team guarantees a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring products are fresh, available, and accurately priced on the sales floor. They are specialists in operations, processes, and efficiency, overseeing food and beverage services, including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing, and promotional signage across all Food & Beverage sections of the store.

As a Pastry Artist, you will gain:

  • Insight into guest service principles and experience fostering a guest-first culture in food
  • The ability to cultivate guest relationships and transform interactions into sales through sampling, custom orders, and unique designs
  • Knowledge of cake and dessert trends, including seasonality, guest preferences, flavor combinations, and ingredients
  • Experience in monitoring product sales and adjusting production to enhance efficiency, profitability, and minimize waste
  • Skills in fundamental cake decoration techniques
As a Pastry Artist, your daily responsibilities may include:
  • Delivering an outstanding guest experience by ensuring a fresh and plentiful shopping environment during all operational hours, prioritizing guest needs over tasks
  • Executing Food & Beverage processes, including food deliveries, replenishment, stocking, zoning, data accuracy, and cleaning
  • Engaging with guests to understand their custom cake requirements and consistently meeting or exceeding their expectations
  • Maintaining the execution of Food & Beverage Standards
  • Adhering to all food safety protocols as outlined through best practices
  • Understanding how operational procedures affect shortages and profitability, producing items according to specifications
  • Following proper packaging and labeling guidelines for food products
  • Monitoring and recording temperature-sensitive food items as per best practices
  • Identifying and processing damaged, recalled, or expired items according to best practices
  • Utilizing sampling and suggestive selling techniques to promote products and boost sales
  • Implementing accurate perishable inventory procedures
  • Creating a welcoming atmosphere by genuinely greeting all guests
  • Observing guest behavior to determine if they need assistance or wish to engage
  • Engaging with guests authentically, asking questions to better understand their specific needs
  • Being knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store to resolve guest issues and enhance their experience
  • Expressing gratitude to guests and ensuring they feel valued for choosing to shop with us
  • Properly handling environmentally sensitive items during spills or breaks
  • Using and caring for in-store and personal protective equipment, adhering to equipment control guidelines
  • Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • Working safely at all times to benefit yourself and others, identifying and correcting hazards, and complying with safety policies
  • Supporting guest services such as backup cashier and order pickup while maintaining compliance with relevant laws
  • Performing other duties as needed based on business requirements

  • Previous cake decorating experience is preferred but not mandatory

  • A welcoming and helpful attitude towards guests and team members
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Skill in resolving guest inquiries promptly

  • Accurate handling of cash register operations
  • Efficiently scanning, handling, and moving merchandise, including lifting up to 40 pounds
