Job Summary

At Williamson Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate NICU Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional care to our patients and their families, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver world-class, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, identifying their unique needs and developing individualized care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
Collaborate with our healthcare team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care, incorporating emotional support and education to promote patient well-being.
Utilize your expertise in neonatal care to provide exceptional care to our patients, adhering to our hospital's policies and procedures.
Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in neonatal care, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.

Requirements

Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
Licensed in the State of Tennessee.
BLS within 90 days of hire.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within six months of hire.
Ability to function in stressful situations.
Special Care Nursery/NICU experience desirable.
Ability to return to work within 1 hour when on call.

Our NICU unit is a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and families. As a member of our team, you will be expected to work collaboratively with our healthcare team to provide exceptional care to our patients, while also maintaining a safe and healing environment.

Physical Demands

Ability to communicate in English verbally and legibly.
Ability to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day.
Ability to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs.

Performance Standards

Performs a comprehensive assessment on all patients within the appropriate time of admission, utilizing skills of observation, communication, and examination.
Plans the patient's care on an individual basis, identifying problems/needs, nursing diagnosis, standards of care/practice, interventions consistent with identified problems, and attainable outcomes.
Plans for patient teaching, discharge, and post-discharge needs as appropriate for patient population.
Functions independently with treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate to areas, evidenced by adherence to policy, procedure, and competency-based assessment and no pattern or trend of problem.
Handles/ transports/ stores/ prepares/ administers medications/solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Documents accurately and timely.
Reassesses patient's condition, evaluates patient response, and modifies plan of care accordingly and in a timely manner.
Accepts Charge responsibilities and assigns staff with consideration of patient condition and care requirement, acuity, and complexity of patient's condition. Facilitates Staff development.
Maintains healing and therapeutic environment for the patient and family.
Maintains position-specific qualifications. Attends mandatory in-services/staff meetings.
Demonstrates responsibility for assigned communications, unit duties, and special assignments.
Maintains personal appearance in a way that reflects our professionalism and demonstrates to our patients, visitors, and co-workers the importance we place on cleanliness, orderliness, and safety.
