This is a full-time opportunity that requires a strong leader with excellent clinical management skills to oversee the operations of the Operating Room department.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and Facilitate Patient-Centered Nursing Care
- Provide real-time clinical expertise for unit staff and physicians on escalated problem-solving for patients, processes, and family issues.
- Manage the operations of the unit to ensure smooth and efficient patient care management and resource utilization.
- Lead Change and Quality Improvement Initiatives
- Develop, implement, and evaluate quality and process improvement initiatives of the department in conjunction with the director.
- Seek and utilize input from staff and oversee change implementation.
- Ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Facilitate Communication and Budget Management
- Communicate system, regional, facility, and department initiatives.
- Manage and develop the operational and capital budgets and use of associated resources.
- Develop and Support Staff Leadership
- Assure the development of staff leadership through the design of effective shared leadership models.
- Support career advancement opportunities.
- Function as a role model and encourage staff to participate in their own development.
- Manage and Develop Operational and Capital Budgets
- Manage large single unit or multiple clinical units to ensure excellent patient care.
- Actively develop leadership of entry-level nurse manager(s) while leading clinical improvement initiatives.
- Education and Experience
- BSN or MSN required for all new hires.
- BSN required for internal transfers/promotions within 6 months of transfer/promotion.
- Certifications and Licenses
- Current RN license in state of practice.
- BLS certification.
- Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge and understanding of clinical care management.
- Critical thinking, communication, influence, decision-making, analytical, and flexibility skills.
