Job Summary
The LPN provides professional nursing care for assigned patients. This nurse works under the direct supervision of an RN to collaborate in utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Provides age-specific care as appropriate to the area assigned. The LPN is responsible for maintaining the standards of practice; complying with established policy and procedure; managing supplies and equipment; and promoting collaboration with medical and other staff. The LPN will participate in supporting the facility's mission statement, achieving customer satisfaction, and identifying system problems as opportunities for improvement. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of Phoebe Physicians.

Responsibilities
  • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission, and vision of the organization.
  • Provides age-specific care as appropriate to the area assigned.
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility.
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements on time.
  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
  • Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
Requirements
  • Vocational/Technical Degree in Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
  • 1-2 years Practical Nursing Experience.
  • Communication Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Customer Relations, Read/Comprehend Written Instructions, Follow Verbal Instructions, Basic Computer Skills.
Working Conditions
  • General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
  • May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
  • May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.
  • May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
