Ring Side Exercise Instructor

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a dynamic and experienced Exercise Instructor to lead our Ring Side program. As a key member of our fitness team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering high-energy kickboxing classes that promote cardiovascular endurance and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging and safe group exercise classes
  • Design classes to improve cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, and muscular endurance
  • Lead classes with varying intensity levels to cater to diverse participant needs
  • Build strong relationships with members and promote a positive fitness environment
  • Maintain equipment organization and assist with program statistics
Requirements:
  • At least one year of experience leading challenging and safe group exercise classes
  • Knowledge of the fitness components of a group exercise class
  • Certification in Group Exercise or related specialty (preferred)
  • YMCA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning and/or Foundations of Group Exercise certification or equivalent (preferred)
  • Positive attitude and experience working with diverse populations
  • Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive work environment
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certifications (preferred)

  • Competitive hourly rate: $18.67 to $20.67 per hour, depending on qualifications
