About this Opportunity
The Occupational Therapist is a vital member of the North Memorial Health interdisciplinary care team, responsible for evaluating the physical and cognitive needs of patients, developing personalized care plans, and providing or directing individualized care within the scope of practice. The primary goal of care is to prevent further impairments, improve function, and enable patients to participate in activities, promoting greater independence and reducing the need for further care.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' physical and cognitive needs, establishing a care plan to address their specific requirements.
- Provide or direct individualized care to patients, ensuring they receive the necessary support to achieve their goals.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
- Participate in training, orientation, and education to enhance skills and knowledge, particularly in areas such as diagnostic groups, units, or locations of service.
- Engage in regular review and discussion of Therapies Center operations and Quality improvement activities, providing input and clinical expertise to deliver evidence-based and state-of-the-art care.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate or Master's degree from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy; Doctorate preferred.
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience, with a focus on diagnostic groups, units, or locations of service, or completion of a residency or fellowship program.
- Competency in accepted and evidence-based Occupational Therapy practice, with additional knowledge and skills as needed, specific to a diagnostic group, unit, or location of service.
- Ability to balance work priorities in a rapidly changing environment, exercising clinical decision-making and good judgment in regard to patient experience.
- Works well independently within the scope of practice, as well as Therapies Center policies, procedures, and guidelines, and is skilled in interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ability to resolve conflict and advance professionalism among colleagues.
- Seeks to advance and refine their skill set to demonstrate personal professional growth and meet the needs of patients, department, and North Memorial Health.
- Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to read, write, and comprehend non-English languages is an additional benefit.
Licensure/Certification
- Licensed to practice in the State of MN - State Requirement.
- Current NBCOT certification or certification eligible.
- Current CPR certification or completion of certification during orientation period.
- Must possess a current class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record if driving to alternate locations.
- Must provide annual proof of insurance per hospital policy if driving to alternate locations.

Work Details
- Work Group: Non Contract.
- Hours per two-week pay period: 80.
- Shift: Days 8 hours.
- Weekend Requirement: Weekends as Needed.
- Call Requirement: None.
