Key Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a dedicated Submarine Materials Engineering Specialist to join our team. This role involves hands-on engineering support for the U.S. Navy's submarine operations.

The selected candidate will be tasked with:

  • Developing and fabricating prototype components and molds.
  • Collaborating closely with fellow engineers, technicians, and shipyard staff to produce, install, and test advanced polymer products.
  • Utilizing various hand tools for the fabrication, installation, and assessment of test components.
  • Engaging with government and contractor personnel to address technical and scheduling needs.
  • Leading engineering teams and technicians during installation and testing phases at shipyards.
  • Traveling to public shipyards and other locations for extended periods as required.
Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering preferred) is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in practical engineering through academic or professional experiences.

Experience in polymer processing is advantageous, and familiarity with acoustics is a plus.

Demonstrated leadership experience through roles in task supervision or participation in social or athletic organizations (e.g., Team Captain, Club Officer) is beneficial.

An Active DOD Secret Clearance is mandatory.

Compensation Range

The typical salary range for this position is between $86,000 and $138,000, reflecting the expected compensation based on experience and other relevant factors.
