The primary role of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) involves administering prescribed medications as directed by the attending physician. It is essential to accurately document the medications given, noting their effectiveness and any observed side effects.
In addition, CNAs assist residents with daily living activities, which include:
- Bathing and dressing
- Personal hygiene tasks such as shaving and oral care
- Nail and hair care
- Foot care and toileting
- Eating assistance and mobility support
It is crucial to observe and report any changes in the resident's physical condition or cognitive/emotional status as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred.
