Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Highmark Health. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our hospital facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform equipment and materials fabrication, including miscellaneous installations and repairs, as well as updates and repairs to hospital plumbing systems, electrical repairs, light carpentry, and other trades.
  • Respond to service and emergency calls regarding any maintenance repair, electrical or plumbing problem.
  • Maintain locks and keys and door-related apparatus.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for knowledge and application of DOH, Joint Commission, and ICRA requirements.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic working knowledge of a wide range of mechanical equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Stationary Engineering training, as well as training in plumbing, HVAC, and/or electrical.
  • Certification in Proper Refrigeration Practices Type I and Type II.
  • Prior mechanical experience, including burning and welding.
  • Prior healthcare experience.
