About the Role

The Principal Mobile Quality Engineer will play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of high-quality mobile applications for the Banking Solutions business. As a key member of the Quality Engineering team, you will be responsible for developing scalable automated test frameworks and tools that enable developers and quality engineers to implement fast, reliable test coverage and quality gates that run in CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement in Quality and help teams increase productivity and foster innovation.
  • Implement and maintain Mobile test frameworks for iOS and Android.
  • Evaluate third-party testing tools, services, and vendors, and make recommendations for adoption based on quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Research and implement automated testing solutions for mobile platforms, including push notifications and biometrics, UI component visual testing, Accessibility, performance, and security.
  • Demonstrate ability to innovate and leverage new technologies, tools, and techniques to solve complex technical challenges in testing, test environments, and test data.
  • Enable teams with the testing frameworks, pipelines, and tools that promote a shift-left testing approach.
  • Implement quality gates in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Actively participate in continuous grooming and execution of the Quality Engineering Enablement Roadmap.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on mobile testing topics, provide technical guidance to stakeholders on test automation strategies and best practices, and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing efforts.
  • Collaborate with development, QE, DevOps, product management, and other teams to align quality goals and drive continuous improvement in quality.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, creativity, and excellence in Quality within the Digital teams, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • Extensive hands-on experience with mobile application test frameworks - Appium, Espresso, XCUITest.
  • Proficiency in mobile development languages such as Swift, Kotlin, Java, and frameworks/libraries like React Native.
  • Experience with visual test automation tools (Storybook, Applitools) and accessibility testing (Axe).
  • Experience with code coverage and quality gating tools such as SonarQube.
  • Experience in REST API testing using open-source testing frameworks or tools.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline execution and build tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
  • Proficient in debugging and log analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with multiple teams across the organization.
  • Knowledge of modern software development practices such as Agile methodologies, continuous integration, and test-driven development (TDD).
  • Deep understanding and commitment to software engineering principles and processes (e.g., Lean, Agile, DevOps) and continuous improvement through measurement.
  • Preferred degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant experience.
