Position Overview

Peraton is in search of a Trellix Endpoint Security Senior Engineer to enhance our skilled and diverse workforce. This role is integral to Peraton's Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) Program, specifically for the U.S. Coast Guard (CG). The initiative aims to modernize and streamline the operational environment through a unified technology framework to better serve CG's clientele.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and sustain endpoint security measures utilizing Trellix ESS, ACAS, Elastic SIEM, and Tanium technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with various teams to architect, deploy, and oversee endpoint security systems throughout the organization.
  • Perform routine security evaluations and vulnerability assessments to uncover potential risks and security deficiencies.
  • Monitor and scrutinize security incidents and events, responding swiftly to mitigate threats and minimize disruption to business functions.
  • Diagnose and resolve intricate technical challenges associated with endpoint security tools and configurations.
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments and innovations in endpoint security and cybersecurity.
  • Engage in security audits and compliance evaluations, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Offer technical support and mentorship to junior security team members.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
  • At least 8 years of experience with a BS/BA; 6 years with an MS/MA; or 12 years with a High School Diploma/equivalent.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory; a minimum of a Secret clearance (or higher) is required.
  • A minimum of 6 years of practical experience in designing, implementing, and managing endpoint security solutions.
  • Proficient in using Trellix ESS, ACAS, Elastic SIEM, and Tanium for endpoint security and cyber threat prevention.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices, protocols, and frameworks.
  • Previous experience with the Department of Defense (DoD) or government contracts is advantageous.
  • Skilled in scripting and automation for security-related functions.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a capacity to think critically under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are beneficial.
