Job Description

As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. You will adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects to students with mild to moderate disabilities, utilizing a variety of teaching techniques and strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.

  • Develop and implement IEPs for students with disabilities.
  • Adapt general education lessons to meet the needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching techniques and strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.

You will collaborate with other educators, parents, and professionals to create and maintain an effective learning environment. This includes monitoring and assessing students' progress and providing regular updates to parents and school administrators.

In addition to your teaching responsibilities, you will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and complete student records as required by law, district policies, and administrative regulations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a school setting.
