Youth Ministry Assistant at SOJOURN CHURCH J-TOWN INC

Mission Focus
The Youth Ministry Assistant will work closely with the Family Ministry Team to engage parents in guiding children and adolescents in their faith journey, fostering a lasting love for Jesus Christ.
Character and Skills Required
  • Exhibits the character and qualifications of a deacon as specified in Scripture and organizational guidelines.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to collaborate effectively with team members, local leaders, and other ministry coordinators.
  • Possesses strong administrative and organizational abilities, with a knack for developing strategies and systems while managing multiple projects.
  • Capable of following direction and executing the ministry's vision.
  • Displays humility and a desire for continuous improvement within the ministry and a commitment to building a sustainable church.
  • Proficient in using Google Workplace and scheduling applications.
  • Engaged in personal development amidst a growing ministry environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Family Ministry Team in collaborating with parents, recruiting and training volunteers, and mentoring children and youth.
  • Assist in achieving ECAP Accreditation by working with the Child Safety Team, adhering to child protection protocols, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Manage and coordinate childcare services for all events outside of Sunday mornings, including Bible Studies and Member Meetings.
  • Read designated materials and submit reviews or reflection papers as required.

Reports to: Director of Students

Expectations
  • Comply with the Sojourn Staff Covenant.
  • Support and advance the mission and objectives of Sojourn Church.
  • Embrace and promote the ministry philosophy of Sojourn Church.
  • Commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week.
