The Assistant Professor serves as a vital member of the academic faculty, holding an intermediate rank that reflects a proven track record in teaching, research, and professional contributions relevant to the field.
Responsibilities include teaching assignments determined by the department head, which may encompass advising students academically.
This role involves engaging in scholarly pursuits beyond teaching duties, with an expectation of demonstrating research productivity aligned with the university's mission and available resources.
- Instruction will cover both graduate and undergraduate courses, delivered in online and in-person formats.
- Active participation in the department's student organization is encouraged.
- Contribute to service activities within the department, college, and university.
The minimum qualifications for the Assistant Professor position are outlined in the Faculty Handbook. A commitment to understanding and engaging with diverse cultures and backgrounds is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
A terminal degree from an AACSB accredited institution in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a closely related discipline is required (ABD candidates with expected completion may be considered).
Demonstrated potential for high-quality research and evidence of effective teaching in areas such as Cybersecurity, System Hardening, Integration, Application Security, Quality Assurance, Cloud Computing, and other IT or cybersecurity-related subjects are also necessary.
